China Extends AD/CVD Investigation Periods on U.S. Polyphenylene Ether

On July 26, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced that it would extend the antidumping and countervailing duty investigation periods on polyphenylene ether imported from the United States.

The No. 17 Notice and No. 18 Notice extended the AD and CVD investigations, respectively. MOFCOM announced the launch of an AD investigation on U.S. polyphenylene ether back on August 3, 2020 and later launched a CVD investigation on the same product on August 14. The original investigation period was set at one year, but Chinese regulations allow an extension of 6 months in AD and CVD investigations under special circumstances. Through these notices, the AD and CVD investigations are extended to February 3 and February 14 respectively.
