Last August, Mexico imposed a range of higher tariffs on imports from countries with whom Mexico does not have a free trade agreement (FTA), and China was the country most affected. While no public explanations have been offered by the Mexican government for the move as it relates to China, some analysts have recently put forward possible explanations.
