At meetings of the WTO's Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures in April, a number of issues related to Chinese subsidies and state-owned enterprises were discussed; China raised concerns about other governments' use of countervailing duties; and there was disagreement about the possible appointment of a Chinese citizen to the SCM Committee's Permanent Group of Experts.
