In a series of interviews yesterday and today in advance of President Xi's meeting with President Trump later this week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer discussed progress that had been made so far in their talks with their Chinese counterparts, on issues such as the Board of Trade, an AI Dialogue, extending the trade truce, and possible Chinese auto investment in the United States.
