The Mexican government announced last month that it will raise tariff rates for a number of products. This tariff increase is applicable to all nations that do not have a trade agreement with Mexico, and China falls into this category. As a result, this move will have an impact on bilateral trade between the countries, as many of China's exports to Mexico will now face higher tariffs. The sectors of steel, iron, plastics, and rubber will be particularly hard hit.
